Company description Myers Produce is a woman-owned regional distributor and trucking company operating out of hubs in Northern VT, Western MA, and Brooklyn, NY.  We offer distribution and freight services to farmers and producers throughout our region.  We source from within the Northeast as a rule, and the majority of our sources are certified organic.  We specialize in fresh produce and carry fresh fruit, eggs, meat, cheese, grains, flowers, and added value products as well.  We deliver primarily to independent retail stores and restaurants in New York City, the Greater Boston Area, and the Cape. Myers Produce is seeking a full-time Account Manager to join our Sales Team.  This is primarily a remote position, with some in-person responsibilities.  Candidates must be based within the Northeast, and proximity to New York City, Boston, or Hatfield, MA is considered a plus.  The primary goal of this position is to develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers, and to contribute to Sales Department goals. 

As the Account Manager, you would be responsible for all communication with a set of Myers' customers, including processing orders, answering questions about products, resolving issues, and providing account support.  You would spend time working remotely, meeting in-person with our customers, and meeting in-person with our team in Western MA.  You would report directly to our Senior Account Manager, Caroline.

Produce industry experience is required for this position.  Retail or wholesale sales experience preferred.

The ideal candidate:

  • Has at least one year of experience in sales or customer service.
  • Has at least two years of experience working in the produce industry.
  • Has knowledge of produce varieties and seasonality.
  • Has an appreciation for the value of local agriculture and organic produce, and is fully engaged with our mission to support agriculture in the Northeast.
  • Is detail-oriented and meticulous.
  • Is an excellent communicator.
  • Is calm and creative in a fast-paced environment.
  • Is focused and self-motivated in a remote office setting. 
  • Is familiar with the NYC and Boston areas.
  • Understands and is ready to engage with the physical as well as mental challenges that are common in this line of work.
  • Is comfortable with Slack, Google Suite, and Office 365
  • Has experience with QuickBooks Online.
  • Has experience with Mailchimp, Squarespace, and Instagram.

 

Commitment:

  • This position will start in November 2023.
  • One-year commitment required. 
  • Two-year commitment preferred.
