Preble Street’s Emergency Food Services help meet the nutritional needs of our community members through our Food Security Hub, Mobile Food Services, Food Pantry, and shelter-based meal service sites. Preble Street has adapted how it provides food services to effectively meet the food needs of people experiencing homelessness and food insecurity—and our team of food services professionals work together in our innovative Food Programs toward achieving our goals to address and end hunger in our communities.

Preble Street is seeking full-time Assistant Chef position to assist in the management of the Food Security Hub and other Food Programs locations to ensure that our community members in need have access to nutritious, delicious food every day. The Assistant Chef will support the Chef in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment and have a hands-on role in the day-to-day kitchen and meal preparation and planning, will directly supervise and train kitchen staff and volunteers, and will perform various program management tasks.

The schedule for this full-time (40 hours/week), 1st shift position is Tuesday - Saturday, 6:30am - 2:30pm.

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position, with a pay rate of $26/hour. Generous paid time off, insurance, and retirement plan benefits include:
