Job description
Chef - Small Batch Scratch Kitchen
We are seeking a passionate and creative Chef to join our small batch scratch kitchen. With a focus on sustainability and high-quality ingredients, our kitchen sources from local and organic farms to create a diverse range of fresh foods and bakery to be sold in our harvest market.
This position offers a great work-life balance with no nights or weekends required, and competitive pay.
Key Responsibilities:
-Develop and execute seasonal food products that highlight locally sourced farm inputs. Current foods include quiches, soups, empanadas, flatbread and more made with our farm produce, meat, and dairy.
-Manage daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and adherence to local health and food safety standards.
-Work with fellow chefs in the kitchen to uphold quality standards, encouraging continuous learning and culinary excellence.
Qualifications:
-Professional culinary degree preferred.
-Proven experience in a similar culinary role, with a focus on fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
-Strong knowledge of food safety standards and health regulations.
-Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a capability to inspire and educate team members.
-Ability to handle inventory, compute food costs, and analyze cost effectiveness.
-Creative mindset with an eye for detail, ensuring every food product maintains high-quality presentation and taste.
