Friends Camp is a Quaker youth camp in China, Maine. We host about 110 campers and 40 staff members at a time in an overnight camp setting. We celebrate acceptance, play, community, creativity, and exploring the outdoors. Campers and staff alike help make camp run smoothly, lending a hand when needed with work and maintenance tasks.

Job description
We are looking for the perfect person to lead and round out our summer cooking team. The right applicant will be interested in cooking
kid-friendly food from scratch,
supervising a small kitchen team, and contributing to a positive staff community. We source as many foods as possible from local farms and vendors, so an interest in creative sourcing and ordering is a must. Support and training is available from our previous summer cook, who has moved to a year-round position elsewhere.
Job responsibilities include: ordering, menu planning, and coordinating with a 5-person kitchen staff in order to serve meals for 140 community members per day.
Desired qualifications: Experience cooking for a group of 50+ people, food safety certification (although we could help you get this if you don't have it), knowledge of safe practices around allergies & special diets, and experience supervising others.
Benefits included are room (in a cozy, lakeside cottage) & board, as well as the opportunity to be a part of a great staff community. For a 5-day work week,
salary range is $800-$1000/ week depending on experience. There is optional work available cooking for smaller groups before and after our summer season.
Compensation
this position is: salaried, varies DOE, $7,300.00 - $10,000.00
