Job description

Who We’re Looking For

LOS TACOS No. 1 is looking for an experienced and reliable Staff Accountant to join its fast-paced and growing team. The ideal candidate will be well-organized and a strong communicator, have impeccable attention to detail, be familiar with the restaurant/hospitality industry, and be eager to learn and grow with the company. This position will report to and work directly with the current Director of Finance.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cost accounting, maintain the general ledger, and perform other related duties
• Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements
• Work closely with Director of Finance to reconcile accounts and close monthly books
• Update cash flow model on a weekly and monthly basis
• Create a weekly snapshot P&L of the company’s food and labor cost percentage
• Check cash deposits on a daily basis and record any discrepancies
• Allocate expenses in QuickBooks Online and Expensify to properly log bank and credit card transactions
• Properly accrue and record relevant current and prepaid expenses on a monthly basis
• Document the product mix from the POS to assist in forecasting sales
• Enter accounts payable invoices and bill payments
• Complete year-end tax reporting and 1099 filings
• Create ad hoc reports as needed

Qualifications

• 4-6 years of finance/accounting work experience
• Preference for candidates in restaurants or hospitality
• Expert knowledge of Excel and Google Sheets
• Experience with Quickbooks or Quickbooks Online
• Experience with sales tax filing preferred
• Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment
• Ability to manage multiple projects and ability to multi-task and establish priorities
• Bachelor’s degree with a focus in finance/accounting

Compensation & Benefits

This position will have a base annual salary in the range of $80-90K. In addition, this position will be eligible for the following benefits:

this position is: salaried, $75,000 - $100,000
