Company description The East Calais General Store is a recently renovated historic general store, originating from the1850's.  The General Store recently re-opened in October 2023 after a yearlong total building renovation. The store is open year-round and was listed in 2020 on the National Register of Historic Places. The new & improved 'EC Store' is a combination of convenience store, coffee shop, art gallery with a compact and well equipped licensed commercial kitchen and deli.  The store provides the local community and commuters with a variety of grocery staples, grab and go meals, local baked goods, world winning Vermont cheese, pantry items as well as beer & wine.  The kitchen is equipped with a seasonal service window to serve ice cream and a snack bar menu with picnic table seating located along the historic Vermont Route 14 in the small village of East Calais.  We are an equal opportunity employer. This position will involve event planning, detail design, public relations, basic errands and communications.


We are seeking a vibrant & creative person to assist in detail design of running a small community store that provides a wide range of goods and is a valuable resource to the local community. 

Early mornings and being eager to learn the details of business management are required.  Farm visits, shopping for new local products, basic errands and event planning are just a few fun parts to running a unique Vermont General Store- with a catering kitchen and event space. Compensation this position is : salaried, $15-20/hr
