We are a small team working closely and directly with farmers to provide and deliver the best produce available seasonally to restaurants and chefs in NYC and further.
We all have a passion for fresh produce, service and/or hospitality and are looking for an office manager/bookkeeper to join our team.
Job description
Oversee all bookkeeping and ensure consistent accounting practices and accurate
reporting, provides administrative support to the Executive and Purchasing Directors in the areas of bookkeeping, office and logistics administration, human resources management.
- AR, AP, and deposits
- Bank deposits
- Bank and merchant account reconciliations
- Year-end closeouts and prepare materials for tax and audit firm
- Assist Warehouse manager and purchase director with logistics and product inventory
- Help organize and participate in weekly team meetings
- Maintains inventory of office supplies; orders new supplies as needed.
- Maintains office files; implements an efficient system for other staff to access files and records.
- Manage the weekly newsletter sent to customers (optional)
Skills/Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Previous experience in sales or customer service, interest in creating and improving upon systems is a plus
- Interest in organics, agriculture and being a part of a growing company and industry
- Ability to be flexible and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work well in a team environment that promotes inclusiveness and communication among team members
Required and/or preferred Education and Experience:
- Must have 5+ yrs’ experience in Accounts Payable
- Ability to manage financial details while maintaining an understanding of the big picture : Candidate must have a solid understanding of basic bookkeeping, accounting, receivables/payables, and general ledger cutoff dates
- 5 yrs + Experience with QuickBooks.
- Experience with bank reconciliation and account management
- Comfortable with financial concepts such as budgeting
- Self-direction
- Ability to handle a multitude of disjointed tasks.
- Proficiency with Google Drive or Microsoft Office, especially spreadsheets.
- Experience as an office administrator, bookkeeper, office assistant, human resources generalist
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and a sense of professionalism
Compensation & Benefits:
- Full-time, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.
- Salary base 59K to 65k according to experience for full time (40 hours per week)
- Hourly compensation possible for 3/4 or part-time.
- Flexible work schedule : Part-time can be considered and discussed with the candidate.
- PTO : Paid holidays and sick days (starting after probation period)
Compensation
this position is: salaried, $50,000 - $75,000
