Company Description

It’s a fact that the food we consume significantly impacts our health, and in many cases can control and even reverse nutritional diseases such as Type 2 Diabetes. While most people realize this, often those at the most significant risk from nutritional diseases are not able to afford or have access to, the foods they need. For that reason, located in the heart of an area of Atlanta officially recognized as a food desert, The Farm at Good Sam is working to reverse that trend. The fruits and vegetables grown on our 1-acre of land contribute to the health center's Full Circle of Health model and are available at The Market, located on the health center's campus. We are a Certified Naturally Grown Farm. 

This is a seasonal position from April 2024-November 2024, with the possibility of extending into
December. This position is seeking someone with experience in the areas of: No-till practices, seeding,
transplanting, bed building, irrigation, farm maintenance, harvesting, post-harvest preparation, and crop
removal. Experience or familiarity with certified organic of Certified Naturally Grown is a plus.

Qualifications
At least one season of growing/farming experience in an agricultural setting
Able to repeatedly lift 20-30lbs
Willing and able to work in all weather conditions

Compensation
$15/hr

Hours
The Farm hours are Monday – Friday From 6:30am – 3:00 pm in the summer, and 7:00 am – 3:30 pm in
the fall. The Farm Hand will choose their hours to work within the days and times the farm is in
operation.

Benefits
This is a 1099 contract position which does not include benefits.

Availability
Available to work 25-30 hours a week
