The Brooklyn Kitchen is a recreational cooking school. We have been teaching people how to cook like grown-ass adults since 2006, with locations in Williamsburg, Hell’s Kitchen, Sunset Park and the Lower East Side. Our hands-on technique based classes teach muscle memory and demonstrate taste, scent and touch that you can’t get from YouTube. 

Job description

We’re looking for smart, dynamic individuals with strong kitchen chops to join our team.

 

Restaurant experience a plus.

 

The Kitchen Assistant will be responsible for: 

• Prepping ingredients and materials for classes
• Creating a welcoming hospitality environment for guests
• Staying one step ahead of the instructor in executing choreography of class
• Maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen 
• Monitoring guest comfort
• Monitoring guest understanding of class elements
• Capturing content for social media
• Collaborating with team members on creative culinary projects

Compensation

this position is: hourly, $15-20/hr
