Stone Acres Farm is a sixty-five acre working farm located in the historic coastal New England town of Stonington, Connecticut. The property's rolling hills, gardens, and acres of vegetable production are open to visitors. We celebrate natural farming, sustainable food, culinary education and the preservation of open space, cultural landscapes, and historic structures. Located within ½ mile of Stonington harbor, Stone Acres is unique given its access to the sea, livestock, and vegetable resources.
Stone Acres markets its produce to an onsite Farmstand, a 150+ member CSA and the thriving farm to table restaurant community in Mystic, Connecticut. We produce over 6 acres of vegetables, cut flowers, and have a small flock of hens for egg production.
Job description
Farm Store Manager will oversee all aspects of running the Stone Acres Retail Store, managing relationships with vendors for deliveries, and customers as well as the chief liaison to the farm team and will report directly to the CEO. This is an hourly-rate 40-hour week position with the potential to be year-round with benefits.
Responsibilities Include:
- Complete oversight of the Farm’s main store that generates $500,000 annually.
- Working in the stand to supervise stocking, organizing, displaying goods, and providing customer service.
- Inventory management of 3rd party produce and goods. Ordering, pricing, marketing, quality control and record keeping. Establishing relationships with new vendors and soliciting customer feedback.
- Budget oversight of Store Hours
- Engaging in social media promotion for SAF retail.
- Recruiting, hiring, and scheduling store staff to insure operational coverage.
- Full oversight of the Annual Holiday Market – organizing and managing over 30 Artisans’ consignment business during the Holiday season.

Compensation
this position is: hourly, $15-20/hr
