Prep/Line Cook - Elevate Island Culinary Offerings - North Haven, ME
Escape the ordinary and join a culinary movement on a scenic Maine island. The North Haven Inn & Market is seeking a talented and driven Prep/Line Cook to elevate our dining offerings and hospitality for this close-knit community.
This is a year-round, full time position, with room to grow.
Your Mission:
- Craft ingredients into flavorful dishes with precision knife skills
- Follow recipes meticulously to uphold exceptional quality standards
- Assist in plating visually-stunning, craveable dishes
- Maintain an immaculate, efficiently-organized kitchen
- Curate appealing grab-and-go selections in the cold case
- Deliver outstanding service creating a welcoming atmosphere
- Flexibility for occasional evening/weekend shifts
The Ideal Culinary Candidate:
- Ability to take direction from the Head Chef with a positive, coachable attitude
- 1-2 years' prep cook experience in a fast-paced professional kitchen
- Mastery of food safety, sanitation, and culinary fundamentals
- Passion for the culinary arts and drive to develop new skills
- Strong teamwork skills and professional, positive demeanor
- Keen eye for detail and uncompromising standards
- Sense of urgency and ability to thrive in a demanding environment
- Experience in baking and pastry is helpful, but not required
