Knead Love Bakery is a gluten-free, mostly vegan bakery focusing on gluten-free sourdough breads, bagels, cookies, treats, and specialty items. We sell at the GrowNYC Greenmarket, offer shipping nationwide, and also partner with select wholesale accounts. Our focus is on sourcing regional ingredients, as well as a focus on nutrient dense baked goods, and working without refined sugars. We use wild sourdough for our fermentation (no commercial yeasts or gums) and hand-mill our starter, and other flours for our baked goods.
Job description
We are looking for an experienced baker to start part-time and to possibly join full-time in the Fall.
Ideal candidate has experience with gluten-free/vegan baking but if not, we will train you!
We have a two-day production process for all baked goods, and this job includes shaping bagels, sheeting, specialty items, and more. The shift is 6-2/ or 7-3 Mon-Fri, no weekend hours!
Candidate for this position should be able to:
-stand for 8+ hours
-lift up to 50#
-have food handlers license
-have minimum 3 years commercial kitchen/bakery experience
-experience in gluten-free/vegan baking is a plus, not required
-can work well with others
-we speak English and Spanish in the the kitchen
-have experience with sheeter, bakery equipment (a plus)
Compensation
this position is: hourly, $20/hr +
