Sous Chef Job Description
In this position, you will act as second in command to the head chef, help create menu items, and ensure that the back-of-house (BOH) runs clean, efficiently and effectively. You are ultimately responsible for maintaining product pars, executing standard operating procedures (SOP) and clear communication between cooks and the head chef while also being an active contributor to management duties.
Sous Duties and Responsibilities
- Train BOH staff
- Set and maintain a shift schedule
- Oversee day-to-day operations in the BOH with head chef
- Ensure employee education by providing necessary information
- Facilitate quick and efficient communication between front and back-of-house (BOH)
- Maintaining daily prep lists and order sheets in accordance with existing SOPs
- General maintenance of kitchen and its equipment with delegation and schedule
- Communicating issues or necessary repairs with Austin or Evan
- Standard line work and food preparation
Compensation
this position is: salaried, $50,000 - $75,000
