Role Overview
Join Hudson Harvest as a Category Manager for Dairy/Eggs, a pivotal role within our procurement team. You will be responsible for procuring, curating, and expanding our dairy and egg selections, including managing vendor relationships, propelling category growth, and closely collaborating with our sales team to champion successful product sales.
This role requires a physical presence at our Germantown, NY warehouse and visits to farms and vendors. The hours are typically between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., but flexibility is required.

Responsibilities
● Procurement and vendor management:
Send purchase orders, and coordinate with vendors on availability, quality, pricing, and other issues.
Resolve invoice/PO discrepancies with vendors and accounting.
Cultivate strong relationships to create reliable partners.
Create sample and promotion programs with vendors.
● Category management:
Become a product category expert, answering sales questions on products.
Seek out new vendors and products that bring value to the category.
Regularly assess prices to ensure our offerings are competitive while maintaining
gross profit requirements.
Set and enforce quality, safety, and farming practice requirements.
● Inventory management:
Keep accurate inventory by performing weekly counts.
Maintain inventory levels that minimize waste and maximize fulfillment.
Qualifications
● Proficient in MS Excel, computers, and inventory management software.
● Experience building and maintaining strong external relationships.
● Knowledgeable in the dairy/egg industry; food and agriculture sector experience a plus
● Strong verbal and written communication skills (across platforms including Teams, Zoom, email, Slack, and telephone).
● Must be Organized with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive tasks effectively.
● Detail-oriented while maintaining focus on broader objectives.
● Proactive problem-solver adept at maintaining composure in fast-paced environments.
● A team player and self-motivated individual committed to collaborative success
● Thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced culture, embracing constant evolution, and growth within a small, agile team.
● Ability to count and keep track of inventory.
● Capable of physical tasks including lifting boxes to 50 pounds.
● Must be willing to work in chillers and freezers when necessary
