Merrihew’s Sunset Gardens is a plant nursery, garden supply store, gift shoppe, and event venue.  We have been serving the Santa Monica community since 1947.  Our mission is to cultivate a welcoming and ever-evolving botanical space for creativity and community. Our store carries herbs, veggies, fruits, flowers, cacti, succulents, California native plants, Australian native plants, indoor plants, and more. 

Job description

Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry 60+ pounds
• Daily interaction with customers
• Operate cash register
• Answer telephone calls
• Assist with large daily merchandise deliveries, including unloading and pricing of plants, soil, pottery, and garden supplies
• Assist with merchandise stocking
• Assist with event and workshop set-up and clean-up, as needed
• Work efficiently and independently
• Excellent customer service skills
• Personable and friendly demeanor
• Organized and detail-oriented
• Team player 
• Flexible and adaptable to change
• Plant knowledge and farming experience a plus

• $20/hr or commensurate with experience
