Company description

Spring Cafe Aspen is all all day organic cafe located in the heart of the West Village. We are open daily from 8:00am-9:00pm. 

We cook with organic cold-pressed oils, sea salt, and fresh herbs. All of our sauces and dressings are made in-house. We prepare our pastries and desserts using a selection of gluten-free and sprouted flours. Our baked goods are sweetened with maple syrup, coconut sugar, or agave. Our eggs are pastured and sourced from local farms. If our ingredients are not certified organic, it means we are sourcing from small, local farms that grow with the highest organic or biodynamic principles. 

In Aspen, our water is carbon filtered and in New York, our water is filtered by TENSUI. Our bottled juices are cold-pressed on our Norwalk and never pasteurized or HPP.  

We use stainless steel or carbon steel cookware that is free from aluminum and other harmful metals. All of our to-go containers are compostable.  

Our Cafés are built using non-toxic materials. We use hardwood finished with natural oil, our paint is low or zero VOC, and our materials are free of formaldehyde and other toxic chemicals.  

 

Job description

A kitchen manager at Spring Cafe Aspen is committed to bringing excellence every day and requiring it from their staff. They're qualified and focused on creating the best product for our guests through sustainable procurement, efficient preparation, consistent line execution, and the drive to make our product better.   

Tasks will include but not limited to:
-Scheduling
-Expo, assisting on the line, prep
-Department of Health compliance, maintaining the "A"
-Product Inventory, ordering, recipe management
-Support specials, seasonal menu change
-Manage food cost, committing to organic, fresh, and sustainable 
-Payroll, Onboarding, and training of new employees
-Available to our guests and staff to answer questions regarding menu, allergy concerns, and facilitate a steady service
-Events & Catering
 

Necessary Attributes/Experience:
-Vegan/Vegetarian Experience (recommended)
-Bilingual (English and Spanish)
-Kitchen Management Experience
-Good communication skills
-Desire to grow within a company
-2 years of experience required 
-food handlers certification preferred, we'll get you one!
