Job description

We are looking for exceptional hospitality professionals to join our team at Woodberry Kitchen in a full-time capacity. A Shift Lead in the dining room is someone who is responsible for Front of House functions in either the restaurant or events space depending on the given day. The ideal candidate for this role has worked in a variety of serving and bartending roles, possibly including leadership roles, and is ready to take the next step in their career and grow with a small company trying to make a meaningful impact in the local food system. The schedule for this role will most commonly be 40 hours distributed Wednesday to Sunday. Professionalism, positivity, and a willingness to learn are necessary qualities for anyone in this role.

Responsibilities:
-Drive successful daily services including leading dining room and bar set up, positioning team members and yourself throughout services, leading interactions with guests, modeling empathy in the dining room, and maintaining a high standard of enjoyment.
-Prep for events and services by reviewing the BEOs or reservations, communicating pertinent information to team members, creating a plan for each day, and executing it.
-Proactively engage with team members and guests regarding service, ensure the timing of the day goes according to plan, work to ensure guests are ecstatically happy.
-Ensure services and events are broken down properly including clean spaces, proper organization of tools and dishes, and checking out team members at the end of the shift.
-Use existing restaurant systems and employment systems including The Soil, Our Team Standards, Our Management Standards, and other policies.
-Must work 5 full days per week. Schedule will be adjusted to reflect the needs of the restaurant. 

Qualifications:
-3 years of restaurant experience, preferably in an independent restaurant including some fine dining and/or event experience
-Interest in working with local food/growers
-Professionalism & Positivity
-Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for 8 hour shifts
