Job description

Malka NYC is seeking a collaborative and passionate Executive Chef to lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a profound love for food, a creative mind, and exceptional leadership skills. As the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for crafting unique and memorable dining experiences that reflect Malka’s commitment to excellence and culinary artistry. This is a full-time, onsite position. 
 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency.
  • Collaborate closely with the global culinary team to execute and maintain recipes to the highest standards. 
  • Lead, train, and mentor a team of culinary professionals, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and budgeting to optimize kitchen efficiency and profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
  • Collaborate with the operations and marketing teams to execute special events, marketing projects, and other special promotions 

 

Skills & Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Executive Chef, Sous Chef, or similar culinary leadership role in a high-end restaurant.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Creative flair and a passion for experimenting with new culinary techniques and ingredients.
  • Excellent knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and quality control.
  • Strong business acumen and experience with budgeting and cost control.
  • Ability to maintain Kosher kitchen requirements.
  • Desire to have fun and join a unique kitchen team. As part of the open kitchen, chefs contribute to the atmosphere and guest experience.

Compensation

this position is: salaried, 75k-100k
