RG19 first opened in September 2018 as a mobile trailer selling food at five locations in the city of Hudson, NY. The brick-and-mortar store in Hudson opened in March, 2018 and has been in operation for 6 years.We run a free Home Delivery Program for anyone interested in shopping on our online ordering platform. We also run a Local Foods Promotion Program where we purchase from over 30 local farmers and processors.

Position Description: Rolling Grocer Store Manager
PROJECT OVERVIEW
Rolling Grocer, (RG) is a full-service not-for-profit grocery store that benefits both farmers and consumers in Columbia County. It is a fair and convenient way to purchase a wide variety of food year-round to meet the tastes and needs of all people living in the county. We utilize a unique Fair Pricing System to make food affordable for all and prioritize buying from local farms and food producers to support our local community. (Www.rollinggrocer19.org).
RG first opened in September 2018 as a mobile trailer selling food at five locations in the city of Hudson, NY. The brick-and-mortar store in Hudson opened in March 2019. The Hudson store also runs a Curbside/Delivery program to serve Hudson area customers and deliver pre-ordered groceries to customers beyond Hudson.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Rolling Grocer Store Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the Hudson store. The Store Manager coordinates the planning, organization, training, and leadership necessary to support the staff in achieving its mission. Responsibilities include sales and budget management, development and implementation of all store SOPs, Human Resource management, strong communication with store team members and the wider community which RG serves, exceptional customer service, meeting food quality and sanitation standards, and positively representing the RG project. The Store Manager reports to the Rolling Grocer Project Director.
OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
· Promotes and represents with integrity the culture, values, and mission of RG to the Hudson community and to the broader public.
· Creates a culture and work environment based upon compassionate respect. Serves as a mentor providing opportunities for staff to learn, grow, and develop their abilities while working in a productive and positive team environment.
· Leads by example, communicates openly, and provides constructive feedback to all levels of staff to achieve quality standards of excellence in every aspect of the store.
· Conducts the interviews, hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating of staff members to ensure standards of excellence are consistently maintained and mission goals are achieved with the support of the Human Resources Manager.
· Develops, amends and implements all standard operating procedures and protocols.
· Oversees the POS system. Analyzes and utilizes information to develop forward-planning to maximize profits and improve overall performance.
· Works collaboratively with the RG Project Director to develop the desired image and branding strategy for the project.
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
· Directs all activities required to achieve fiscal goals, including sales objectives, margin goals, tracking of operating expenses and income and meeting weekly with the bookkeeping/accounting service to pay all invoices and track all finances.
· Supports the RG Project Director in the development of the yearly budget and monitors the budget with regular meetings with the Project Director
· Attends all Rolling Grocer Board meetings along with the Project Director and gives verbal and/or written reports of the quarterly store progress.
· Responsible for evaluating all staff, with the support of the Human Resources Manager and decides on yearly wages and raises for all staff.
· Develops plans for expansions of any department of the store, resets of the existing store facilities, and has final say over any merchandizing of all items on the store shelves.
QUALIFICATIONS
· 2-5 years of retail experience, preferably in food retail
· Organized and detail focused.
· Exceptional people skills.
· Strong financial and budgeting skills
· Strong interest in and familiarity with natural, organic and local foods.
· Excellent communication skills – gives clear instructions and is a good listener.
· Regular, predictable attendance.
· Fluent computer software literacy (e.g. Microsoft Office, Google Suite, POS systems, etc.).
· Willingness and ability to learn to meet the changing requirements of the job.
COMPENSATION
This is a full-time salaried position; salary range: $55,341 - $60,000+. Salary is commensurate with experience. Paid time off. A stipend towards health benefits is included as part of the salary.
