We have a small twenty acre farmstead with 960 olive young olive trees and 100 Mesquites plus native herb garden. We are a new experiment. Our integrative mission is to explore drylands permaculture and regenerative practices. In addition to olive oil and mesquite flour production, we want to develop the orchard's as a learning center as well as a food lovers paradise. We are located in the high desert of Joshua Tree California.

Job description

We need someone to manage the existing orchard. This is a part time job for now but it is our goal this could move into a full time position. Here is an opportunity to come on the ground floor of a new farm with a good heart. We are looking for someone to help maintain while expanding our vision. A certain level of drylands experience is necessary but much will be learned on the ground. Looking for someone with basic knowledge of olives, drip irrigation, permaculture technique, fertigation, light construction and greenhouse maintenance. We are looking for the right personality that can look at the big picture as well as maintain the health of the current plants. We do have a live-in off grid trailer on site to house one (or couple). Sunever farm is a special place and we are looking for a special person (s) to move the project forward. There is so much more to add but this is a good start. Here is an orchard with much potential and its time to find the right help that's motivated to bring the orchard into the next level of its evolution.

Compensation

this position is: hourly, $20/hr +
