Family Supper is a kitchen concept in Montclair-Bloomfield, NJ opening Late Summer 2024. We believe in the power of a shared meal. Our mission is to provide ease for active households who want to carve out more intentional time with chosen family and friends around the dinner table instead of the grocery store. Our oven-ready meals are flavorful, simple, and nutritious. Family Supper dishes are free of gluten and seed oils, we use antibiotic free meat, and each meal is crafted from scratch.

Job description

We seek an experienced commissary prep or line cook to prepare from-scratch meals in a brand new kitchen. Must be skilled in hot and cold cooking techniques, knife work, execution of both plant-based and protein-forward recipes, and use of professional kitchen equipment. A Family Supper cook is collaborative, manages their time independently, and communicates efficiently.

 

Food is prepared and packed in an open kitchen, all orders are pick-up and pre-order only. Family Supper dishes are made oven-ready, we do not accommodate dine-in service. Kitchen hours of operation currently range from 7am-6pm Monday - Thursday with plans to expand service over time. AM shifts only, schedule can be discussed. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, lift up to 50 pounds, and maneuver around a professional food service space. 1+ years experience required in a from-scratch kitchen. Both professional and lived experience will be considered. Family Supper is located in Bloomfield, NJ and is accessible by car, bus, or NJ Transit. 

Compensation

this position is: hourly, $20/hr +
