Job description

Allandale Farm is a vegetable farm and plant nursery on the border of Jamaica Plain and Brookline. We are currently looking for hardworking, reliable, friendly folks to join our retail market crew. All applicants must be able to work at least three 8-hour days per week including one weekend day.

Responsibilities:

• Working on a POS register system
• Pricing, displaying, and stocking produce, plants, and products
• Knowledgeably answering customer questions and attentively addressing concerns
• Receiving and merchandising deliveries
• Keeping the store and work area clean and well-stocked
• Demonstrating excellent customer service skills
• Reports to market management team

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated interest in local food systems and seasonal produce
• Retail experience with proven customer service skills preferred
• Plant knowledge a plus
• Ability to multitask and maintain attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with other crew members
• Able to comfortably lift 50 lbs
• Must be available to work at least three days per week including one weekend day

• Current COVID-19 vaccinations and booster required for employment

Compensation:

• $17-$19 per hour, commensurate with experience
