INTERIM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, RVG

Duration: Six months

Role Overview:
The Interim Executive Director will play a pivotal role in guiding RVG through a critical transition phase. This part-time, six-month position will facilitate the organization’s shift from a volunteer-driven model, including its Board of Directors, to one where the majority of operational activities are executed by paid, professional staff.
KEY FOCUS OF ROLE:
- Fundraising: To increase the organization’s ability to support a professional staff and expand its programming and impact in the community.
- Marketing and Public Relations: To assist with existing marketing and communications activities and develop plan for ongoing PR, social media and advertising initiatives.
- Organizational Leadership and Strategic Planning: To help shape the role of executive director to move the organization forward for the next 10 years. And to assume responsibilities for day-to-day operations of the organization, including administrative, programming and other operational needs; and community and other stakeholder relations.
FUNDRAISING:
- The interim ED will work closely with the Fundraising Committee of the Board of Directors to create and execute a strategic plan to increase the scope of short (6mos) and long-term fundraising, with a goal of supporting new initiatives and associated staffing.
MARKETING:
- The interim ED will work closely with the Marketing/PR Committee of the Board of Directors to develop and oversee the marketing and communication of RVG’s activities, programs, goals, and accomplishments.
- Create and execute proactive PR, social media, and advertising initiatives.
ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP AND STRATEGIC PLANNING:
- The interim ED will work closely with Board executives and existing staff to evaluate existing systems, recommend improvements, establish standards, and help shape the Executive Director role.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including board members, staff, community leaders, partners, and funders.
- Lead the development of short and long-term strategic plans (e.g. developing timelines, budget, programming priorities, etc.) to advance the mission and goals of RVG and The TaSH; focusing on growth, sustainability, and community impact.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of all programs and initiatives, including The TaSH Farmers Market and new “North Star” (10-year) initiatives. This may include coordinating with community organizations, such as the school district, food pantries, etc.
- Ensure the maintenance of official records and documents, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- The ideal candidate has held a management position in a small- to medium-sized non-profit organization and worked closely with a board of directors and staff
- Demonstrates expertise in operations and financial oversight
- Proven fundraising experience
- Proven track record leading strategic initiatives, creating annual plan, and delivering results
- Knowledge of and ability to perform marketing, social media, and public relations activities
- Ability to visualize big picture goals, formulate detailed plans, and execute them
- Proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite (including Teams)
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills
- Effective, collaborative, and timely communications skills
- Ability to build strong, collaborative organizational relationships to further RVG’s mission
- A commitment to furthering local agricultural, nutritional, and food access issues
- A passion for building community
COMPENSATION:
- $20K-$25K based on experience
- Part-time: approximately 20 hours per week
- 6-month contract position
