Greene Grape Wine & Spirits is seeking a sales associate for 10-20 hours per week.At Greene Grape Wine & Spirits, one of the most dynamic shops in Brooklyn, we sell wine from small producers, curated for quality, and we care about what goes into each and every bottle on the shelf. To put it simply, we only sell wines made with integrity, skill, and pride. This is a great position for someone studying wine or with a strong interest in wine and spirits, and a desire to work hard in a great shop.
Our ideal candidate:
- Is a mature, self-starter, and hard worker with a strong sense of professionalism (hospitality background is also a plus)
- Loves wine and spirits, and learning about wine and spirits (formal wine study is a plus, but not required)
- Is a reliable and supportive team member
- The ability to type and use a computer (POS system, Google Docs, MS Office).
- The ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 pounds
- Can work evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays

- Greet guests as they enter the shop, ask whether they would like assistance with anything, and provide help if needed in a friendly, hospitable, and efficient manner
- Engage with customers and provide recommendations of wines and spirits based on customer’s stated preferences, needs, and desires
- Remain knowledgeable about and answer questions related to products, promotions/sales, and store policies using resources provided by managers
- Answer customer questions and take orders over the phone and assist in fulfilling web orders and setting them up for delivery
- Assist in maintaining in-store delivery schedule based on orders received each day
- Straighten, arrange, stock, and dust off merchandise, and maintain shelving areas and displays as directed
