Job description
The Job
The Sales Support Manager reports to the Head of Sales and oversees the staff and responsibilities for the Sales Support Dept (SSD) in the Wholesale division of Wulf’s Fish. The SSD serves as an information hub, communicating with the Sales, Purchasing, Receiving and Operations departments to ensure an elite end-to-end customer experience. The Sales Support Manager’s duties include:
Staffing
*Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training and performance-oversight of the Sales Support Department
*Delegate tasks and enforce SOPs to ensure a high-level execution of the workday
Critical Comms and Order Managment
*Communicate critical and actionable information within the department and among the Purchasing, Receiving, Sales and Ops teams
*Troubleshoot daily challenges with a focus on resolution and departmental success
*Manage customer orders from end-to-end
House Account Oversight
*Oversee “House Accounts,” with a focus on customer satisfaction, admin efficiency and growing business opportunities
*Meet KPIs (Defined by Head of Sales) relating to growth, customers satisfaction, and team management
*Spearheading Logistics
*Oversee/track outbound freight logistics to ensure customer satisfaction
*Research and develop logistics channels to provide a market advantage with an eye towards growth
Product & Ops Fluency
*Work closely with the Purchasing, Receiving and Inventory teams to communicate quality or availability issues to Sales staff
*Promote sales through product availability messaging to customers
*Work alongside the Operations and Production teams to communicate actionable information to ensure efficiency and results for both Sales and Ops teams
Qualifications
*Minimum 5 years in Sales Support Management or direct equivalent
*Minimum 2 years Seafood Experience
*Minimum 2 years working with an Enterprise Resource Planning, Business Management Software or equivalent technology
*High level proficiency with Office 360 and ability to rapidly master other platforms
*Unparalleled work ethic and leadership skills (training, developing & coaching)
*Strong listening, (written & verbal) communication, time management and organizational skills
*High level of professionalism and approachability
*Good sense of humor and ability to turn the page and move on to the next challenge (it’s just dead fish)
Work Environment & Requirements
*This is an in-office position at our facility in the Seaport neighborhood of Boston, MA. Job requirements necessitate trips to the refrigerated production floor
*This is a salaried role with commensurate hours to execute the workday. Current demands necessitate a partial sixth day along with Sales and Support staff on a rotating basis (roughly once every six weeks)
