Owl's Nest Farm is a worker-owned cooperative farm just outside DC in Upper Marlboro, MD. We grow unique, delicious, nutritious, diverse vegetables, herbs, flowers and fruit on about 7 acres. We use organic practices to grow real food for our CSA members, farmer’s market customers, restaurants, and friends.

Job description

We’re hiring for two part-time roles on a rolling basis, starting in Spring 2025. Full time work available for farmers interested and able to fulfill both roles.

A teammate position at Owl’s Nest Farm is hard work with your body; it’s demanding and exhausting and often wonderful. Not only will you work outside in all weather conditions, but we also need you to move quickly and efficiently. We think you’ll learn a lot, but this is a paid job, not an internship or apprenticeship.

We’re looking for someone who gives a damn about the people they work with: collective care and responsibility are central to our team culture. This farm operates in a worker ownership model, and is looking for a person excited about participating in a highly cooperative space.

Farming is highly skilled labor and our team is a best fit for folks looking for a farm home to be rooted in. Preference will be given to farmers who express interest in a 2 season commitment.

Previous experience with farming and/or other physical jobs is a big plus!

Compensation

this position is: hourly, $15-20/hr
