Job description

This position, initially funded through a cooperative agreement with the Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS), offers a unique opportunity to work closely with Maine Farmland Trust and NRCS, supporting the promotion and administration of NRCS easement programs, including the Agricultural Conservation Easement Program – Agricultural Land Easements (ACEP-ALE) and the Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP). This role involves gaining familiarity with NRCS policies and guidance regarding conservation easement program implementation. The Project Manager/Easement Specialist will be employed and supervised by MFT staff as a member of MFT’s Farmland Protection team, while working closely and learning from NRCS staff.

This full-time position will be based out of the NRCS Bangor office (1-2 days a week to start, with the potential for greater flexibility in the future). The remainder of the week can be based out of Maine Farmland Trust’s Belfast or Portland office, or can be remote but must remain based in Maine.

Compensation

this position is: salaried, $50,000 - $75,000
