Company description
Come work on our Certified Organic vegetable farm in 2025 and make $18.50/hour, plus get free produce from the farm! What’s it like to work at Dirt Rich Farm? In the spring, there’s lots of transplanting, hoeing, and weeding. In the summer, there’s still plenty of weeding, but we also do lots of harvesting and washing and bagging of the harvest. In the fall, we do big harvests of storage vegetables, like potatoes, winter squash, and root vegetables, and clean up the farm in preparation for winter.
Dirt Rich Farm is located on 5 acres about 40 minutes south of Buffalo, NY. We have a little under 3 acres in intensive vegetable production, where we grow over 40 different kinds of vegetables and culinary herbs for our 150 member Summer CSA (June-October), 50 member Late Fall CSA (November and December), a farmers market, a farm stand, and wholesale to restaurants and other local businesses. We also grow strawberries and raspberries and have a big Seedling Sale in the spring, where we sell transplants to home gardeners.
We use low-till methods, and our most important equipment is a two-wheel tractor and hand tools. The farm is run by Laura Colligan, who started the business in 2015, when she was 21, and her husband Ryan Leggio, who joined the farm in 2019.
