Internship description
As a Bakery Apprentice at Apple Ridge Farm, you will learn mixing, shaping, and baking sourdough bread as well as pastry production, our value added farm line, and what it takes to run a bakery. We work extremely hard here and the bakery apprentice is no exception. Expect to work 9-10 hour days in the hot sweaty summer. You can also expect to feel great satisfaction while feeding the greater community.
A typical Day would include the following:
Managing the temperature of our Wood Fired Brick Oven
Mixing/Shaping 300-800 Loaves of Sourdough Bread
Managing the proofing and life cycle of the dough and bread
Weighing ingredients to prepare recipes
Mixing/Shaping Pretzels and Pastries
Communicating with Night Bake and Market Team

Physical Requirements:
Stand for 10 hours on your feet
Deadlift 50 lbs
Early Mornings & Late Nights as needed
Includes housing on farm and farm produced food
Compensation
this position is: hourly, $15-20/hr
