Nicolas Donck has owned/operated Crystal Organic Farm since 1993. We invite you to come and learn from one of the Southeasts most experienced farmers on one of the oldest certified organic farms in the area. The farm specializes in mostly high tunnel production of vegetables, fruits, flowers and medicinal herbs.

Job description

The farmhand is active in all aspects of crop production, on farm markets and produce deliveries into Atlanta. We will fully train all employees and ensure that they are comfortable with their responsibilities. Pay will be based on experience.

REQUIREMENTS

• A passion for small scale organic farming is a MUST
• Strong work ethic
• Be a critical thinker
• Prefer at least 1 Year of Vegetable Farming Experience
• Ability to handle the many physical demands of farming such as the summer heat in GA, working in cold and rain, lifting regularly, standing for long periods of time, bending at the knees and back, etc.

DUTIES

• Help with planting, harvesting, weeding and cultivating crops
• Help with washing, sorting, weighing, and packing produce
• Working the on farm market stand
• Other related farm jobs

WORK RELATIONSHIPS

Works closely with farm owners (Nicolas & Jeni) and other farm crew members. Once well-trained, will be given sole responsibility of some tasks.

Compensation

this position is: hourly, varies DOE, $15.00 - $15.00
