Job description
Urban Adamah is looking for a passionate Educational Programs & Farm Associate to help deliver dynamic, farm-based educational programs and support our farm operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity for hands-on work in education and sustainable agriculture, while fostering a deeper connection to the natural world.
Responsibilities
Educational & Volunteer Program Support:
- Facilitate educational programs and support volunteer groups.
- Lead orientations, group activities, and educational content.
- Assist with program logistics: inventory, materials preparation, and scheduling.
- Support recruitment, training, and supervision of volunteers and educators.
- Ensure farm spaces are organized, clean, and welcoming.
- Serve as Assistant Camp Manager during summer months
Farm Operations:
- Assist with crop production: planting, weeding, irrigation, harvesting.
- Support animal husbandry tasks, including care for goats and chickens.
- Maintain farm infrastructure, including irrigation and greenhouse operations.
- Help monitor and improve soil health and sustainable pest management
Requirements:
- Passion for sustainable agriculture, food justice, and experiential education.
- At least 1 year of experience in farming, gardening, or similar outdoor settings.
- Strong interpersonal skills and comfort working with diverse groups.
- Self-motivated and highly organized with attention to detail.
- Experience in managing multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Familiarity with Jewish traditions and willingness to learn more.
