Mockingbird Bell Farm is a small family farm start up. We started 6 years ago. Operations includes a hazelnut orchard (to begin production in 2 years), meat production (goat, sheep, chicken, goose and duck), and in 2025, a vegetable CSA.
We have an integrated farm that combines crops and livestock in a symbiotic relationship.
Our goal is to promote good health by providing naturally produced food. Our motto "Food, the way God made it".
The previous years were devoted to infrastructure development and learning which methods and products best suit our farm. We are now starting to focus on production and marketing our products.
Job description
Live in a beautiful one bedroom apartment on a small farm. Learn all aspects of farm life by doing and living it.
Tasks include care for a hazelnut orchard (grass and weed control), tending to vegetable production for a CSA activity, care of livestock (goats, sheep, ducks, chickens, geese). Harvest and food preservation are done in the fall. Helping with sales and delivery also will be needed.
There is general maintenance to do, fence tending and general outbuilding maintenance.
The total number of hours worked each week will vary depending upon the season and what needs to be done. This is not a full time job.
There is an opportunity for use of some land for your own purposes.
This is an ideal start for a couple interested in farming life.
Compensation
this position is: hourly, $15-20/hr
