ABOUT THE POSITION
This position is responsible for coordinating and executing necessary operations to support our food access team, with a primary focus on the Mobile Community Market, lending support to food resourcing including acquisition of donated, recovered, and gleaned items, and possible light food processing. This role provides oversight to volunteers and students operational work activities for those assigned to support food security activities such as Mobile Community Market events, prep, and cleanup, farm gleaning events, and value-added processing of donated products. This position supports inventory tracking and other program data to facilitate and strengthen collaboration with other internal departments and community partnerships.
This is a limited-duration position, anticipated to end on October 31, 2025.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Execute Mobile Community Market event operations, including coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, receiving and conditioning inventory, load in/out of the farm truck.
- Maintain accurate inventory, program data, and other program records and reports to ensure adequate procurement for mobile market and kitchen operations, as well as data processes for in-kind donation, grant reporting, etc.
- Represent FareStart in the community with an understanding of departmental goals and strategic plan, with knowledge of ongoing work and integrations.
- Participate in relevant internal and external meetings as directed.
- Support the training of interns/participants of external programs.
- Provide training and oversight to scheduled Mobile Community Market volunteers in collaboration with the Volunteer Engagement Manager.
- Collaborate with student trainers and oversee operational work activities of students assigned to support the Food Security Team.
- Drive FareStart vehicles, including the Market Truck, as needed to pick up and deliver food donations and provide delivery fleet coordination assistance.
- Coordinate with department leadership to minimize operating costs and consider potential cost vs benefit when exploring opportunities and activities.

Compensation
this position is: hourly, varies DOE, $23.00 - $25.00
