Full time Houseman/ House Assistant required for formal home in Litchfield county, CT.

Schedule: Tue-Sat, 40-hours per week.

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Houseman to join our team in Litchfield, CT. The ideal candidate will have formal home experience, showcasing a high level of expertise in organization, formal service, regular and deep cleaning, as well as comprehensive car maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

General Housekeeping
-Maintain cleanliness and organization of all areas of the residence.
-Perform daily cleaning tasks, including dusting, vacuuming, and mopping.
-Manage closets including linens and personal garments.

Maintenance Support
-Assist with basic maintenance and repairs as needed.
-Monitor and report any issues with household systems (e.g., plumbing, heating, electrical).

Car Maintenance
-Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of household vehicles and garages.
-Ensure vehicles are ready for use, and handle minor repairs as needed.

Dog Care

-Ensure dogs are fed on schedule and have fresh water throughout the day.
-Bathe dogs weekly and take them to grooming appointments.
-Provide daily walks, hikes and supervised playtime.
-Stay with the dogs full-time when the family is traveling.
-Administer any prescribed medications as directed.
-Inventory and manage dog food purchasing
-Inventory and manage dog food supplies

Outdoor Maintenance
-Keep patios clear and wash them regularly.
-Set up patios for outdoor gatherings and adjust furniture placement as needed.
-Keep outdoor walkways clean and free of debris.
-Keep and manage the cleaning of windows and siding year round.
-Remove or rearrange outdoor furniture during inclement weather.
-Help with seasonal maintenance tasks, such as seasonal decor.

Front-of-House Duties
-Greet and welcome guests, ensuring a warm and professional atmosphere.
-Manage coat and personal belongings for guests upon arrival.
-Provide assistance with luggage and transportation arrangements as necessary.

Event Support
-Assist in the preparation and setup for family events and gatherings.
-Serve food and beverages during events and ensure guest comfort.
-Help with cleanup and restoration of the residence post-events.

Inventory Management
-Keep track of household supplies and inventory, ensuring adequate stock of cleaning supplies and other essentials.
-Assist in purchasing or procuring household items as directed.

Assistance to Household Staff
-Collaborate with other staff members to ensure smooth operations of the household.
-Provide support to the chef or kitchen staff as required.

Qualifications
-Previous experience in a similar role preferred.
-Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
-Good communication skills and a professional demeanor.
-Flexibility to work various hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
-Strong knowledge of proper cleaning techniques.
-Knowledge of formal table settings and etiquette.
-Longevity in previous roles with excellent & verifiable references.
-Drivers license and ability to drive in all weathers and settings.

Physical Requirements
-Ability to lift and carry heavy items.
-Capability to perform tasks that require standing, bending, and reaching.
