We are the most successful recreational cooking school in New York City, hosting large & small groups for corporate team building activities, company outings, holiday parties, birthday culinary classes, bridal showers, bachelorette parties, and cooking competition experiences.
Job description
We are seeking professional and charismatic HOSTS to oversee our hands on culinary events and dining service. This role requires someone who connects well with others, can comfortably speak in front of large crowds, manage others, and take feedback and direction with grace. This role also requires someone who is a self-starter and likes to take initiative, with attention to detail. Many of My Cooking Party’s Programs are competitive (like TV Cooking Shows), so those with acting experience tend to excel in the performance aspect of the position. Must be outgoing, reliable and have flexible availability.
Maître D’ Responsibilities:
- Orchestrate and oversee events. Time management and an ability to work quickly are essential.
- Oversee a staff of servers.
- Deliver a 5 minute welcome speech, excite & inspire the audience.
- Host Game-Show Like Cooking Challenges utilizing a memorized script.
- Create a fun and inviting party ambiance where guests learn (and or compete) in a non-threatening and social environment.
- Market the company for future business and general good will by engaging guests.
- Provide positive and constructive feedback to the administration.
- Execute large catering service jobs.
Experience Requirements:
- Three years of NYC service experience at a catering company or in a restaurant.
- Public speaking or acting experience.

Compensation:
$30 per hour + TIPS (not guaranteed, but frequent)
