You will work with Chef Rasa Stirbys Benefico assisting with food preservation and production in a small family farm. Some daily preparation for events or meals may be included

We will manage the harvest and target all designated production food (not saved for family and chef use) for preservation - including but not limited to canning, freezing, dehydrating.

Kitchen maintenance, food preservation, inventory of prepared and frozen items would all feature in monthly responsibilities. Helping harvest our small kitchen garden and processing stock would be a major weekly role. There will be daily focus on processing and preserving, and kitchen maintenance.

Must: be adept at maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, have some knowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation, have experience with food preparation and preservation. Must know pressure canning guidelines. Must be comfortable carrying up to 50 lbs. Must be ready to be part of a small, at times very busy team that is focused on great energy and a great final product. Personal car may be used for shopping, moving or picking up farm produce, delivering meals.

Preferred: cooking experience and knowledge of preservation recipes--pickling, stocks etc.

This position is flexible, but availability during peak harvest a must.

Compensation

this position is: hourly, $20/hr +
