Blossom's Farm is a diversified organic/biodynamic farm with locations in Aromas and Moss Landing. We grow herbs that are processed into health and beauty products. We also grow vegetables and strawberries that are sold at farmers markets and wholesale accounts as well as at our onsite farm shop in Aromas. We also have a small nursery where we grow culinary and medicinal herbs, edible plants, native and habitat plants and other specialty plants.

Job description

Farm and Nursery Assistant:

We are in search of full time help for a variety of tasks at our farm in Aromas and Moss Landing. This is a position that requires a willingness to be flexible as needs and tasks can change frequently throughout the days and seasons. It also requires physical work and occassional weekend work. A working knowledge of Spanish is also needed.

The pay is $25/hour.

Though training will be provided, a basic knowledge of farming using organic growing practices, nursery plant care, and vegetable care is required. A positive attitude with a willingness to be a friendly, knowledgeable presence both at the farm itself and at farmers markets is also required.

Tasks include but are not limited to:

• Coordinating and communicating with the owners as to daily/weekly/seasonal priorities
• Communicating priorities and tasks to our small crew
• Caring for nursery plants including watering, propagation, fertilizing, and weeding
• Seeding plug flats that are to be planted on the farm
  Selling at farmers markets
• Picking up and dropping off produce/plants/supplies/etc. between the different sites and deliveries to wholesale accounts
• Helping with any other tasks that may need attention on the farm such as irrigation repair, compost making, animal feeding, etc.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Compensation

this position is: hourly, $20/hr +
