Company description
Aloha,
We are a small micro goat dairy and certified organic farm on the North Shore of Kauai. We operate on 20 acres and specialize in Artisian goat cheeses and other gourmet food products. We also have 10 acres of Organic gardens and orchards where we grow most of the ingredients that we use in the farm kitchen to make all our specialties. We also have an apiary where we harvest honey and make body products. As well as goats we also raise egg laying chickens and shepherd dogs. We supply our products to over 20 restaurants and stores and attend 4 weekly farmers markets where we sell all our products. We also are involved in agritourism and do tours and other events at the farm.

Applicants are required to live on the farm and participate in animal husbandry, animal care, dairy operations, value-added food production, and crop production on our small family farm on North Shore of Kaua’i. The job entails split shifts on some days and is a 30-40 hour time commitment. We provide clean, comfortable living situations for all employees. We are looking for applicants who can commit to a long-term arrangement and want to make Kaua'i their home and farming their lifestyle.
Own transportation is a plus because the closest bus stop is about two miles away.
The housing being offered is a very nice, fully furnished 32 ft RV with kitchenette, refrigeration, and bathroom.
We love children, but the RV is only suitable for a single individual. NO pets.
We presently have two other full-time employees and just need one more solid worker for our team.
We require a resume with three job references.
Qualifications:
Reliability and adaptability are the two most important abilities for this job. No two days are exactly alike and opportunities to learn are many and varied. After training, employees handle several milking shifts each week. Applicants with food handling/farming who have a basic understanding of the hygiene and food safety practices in a commercial kitchen are preferred. Must have a current drivers’ license to help with deliveries and errands. Applicant must be physically fit and able to lift 50 lb. feed bags, clean goat yards, and lift milk cans, etc. Employees are required to wear proper attire at all times including closed toe shoes/boots, proper safety gear depending on the task assigned. The applicant should have a strong desire to learn sustainable farming processes and ability to work with customers at markets and on the farm.
Absolutely no drugs, smoking, or drama. This is a family farm, not a community. We are low-key in our living situations and enjoy the quiet, peaceful atmosphere that we have cultivated on our farm.
