Archway Farm is a family-owned pasture-based livestock farm focused on producing locally grown and processed meats. Our mission is providing Keene and the Monadnock region with high quality meat products, starting with raising animals with a high quality of life. Our pig operation is AWA certified by A Greener World and our cattle & chickens are rotated through large pastures seasonally.

We operate an on-site farm store and processing facility which directly connects customers to the source of their food. The USDA inspected facility processes small batches of product for the store on a weekly basis, as well as a monthly meat CSA and whole animal custom orders. We also collaborate with other local farmers and producers to offer a wider variety of products in our farm store such as dairy, bread and vegetables. Come check us out! 

Job description

Archway Farm is looking for someone to work closely along-side the lead butcher in the processing facility. Primary tasks will include breaking down whole animal carcasses into retail cuts, grinding meat, packaging meat and making value added meat products. Additional plant duties will include washing dishes and facility cleaning to the standards laid out in Archway Farm's HACCP plan. This is a very physical job which will require heavy lifting, long periods of standing and exposure to cold temperatures.

We are looking for someone with culinary, food prep or food manufacturing experience, basic knowledge of food safety and handling protocols and a strong desire to learn retail butchery, seam cutting techniques and further processing. On the job training is available. The ideal candidate will have a drive to learn, ability to take instruction, multitask and have strong attention to detail.

Compensation

this position is: hourly, varies DOE, $15.00 - $20.00
