Job description
Our supporting Farm Manager will be vital in updating our farm processes for the new space and leading the transition and launch of production on the new farm site. They will also help develop and support our inaugural class of Farm apprentices. This USDA supported program will create 3 FT salaried apprenticeship positions for our farm.
• Manage the running of the day-to-day farm work including daily, weekly and seasonal planning, seeding, planting, weeding, irrigation
• Planning weekly priorities through regular meetings with the existing Lead Farm Manager (and Executive Director) and various tasks as agreed upon
• Direct, manage, and train staff, volunteers, and seasonal help which includes supporting the Apprenticeship program
• Contribute to the development of improved operations through routines, processes, checklists, record keeping, farming techniques, and farm infrastructure projects.
• Manage the weekly maintenance and needs of the farm including email inquiries, making trips and purchases for farm needs, and planning and implementing farm improvements as needed
• Support in weekend activities only as agreed upon, i.e. farm stand, volunteer groups, weekend farm maintenance
Compensation
this position is: salaried, varies DOE, $50,000.00 - $56,000.00
