An ethical and agriculturally-centered manufacturing operation celebrating all things blackcurrant in the Hudson Valley. We produce botanical blackcurrant aperitif from ingredients sourced in the immediate vicinity of our winery/distillery in Rhinebeck, NY. Located on a 35 acre property and small farm, we also operate an intimate tasting room which opens to the public on weekends and is available for small event bookings, workshops, and art happenings throughout the week.
Job description
This is a role which combines practical manufacturing in an idyllic setting, engagement with regenerative agriculture, and the opportunity to share those passions in a public facing setting.
Working directly with C. Cassis Founder/Owner, this position is responsible for:
- Managing and executing production schedules for all beverage and CPG manufacturing including our bottled aperitifs, Salted Currant Compote, CC Salt and CC tea
- Communicating with COO/Designer on package needs and managing stock of labels
- Communicating with our sales manager to ensure CPG pars are met in the studio, orders are kept up with and QC on packaging is up to standards
- Maintaining SOPs for cleanliness and organization in all areas of the facility
- Enforce safety and sanitation regulations
Supporting weekend operations at the C. Cassis tasting room which includes:
- Ordering and maintaining a stock of C. Cassis products for retail
- Curating the tasting room shelves and small retail fridge with prepared/packaged goods, local charcuterie, cheeses and other NY-state made provisions
- Create and maintain vendor relationships
- Responsible for updating Square POS with new items, proper pricing, maintaining margins and costs, printing menus, and generating fridge labels
We are searching for ambitious and organized mavericks who feel comfortable and confident in communicating needs and excel in task-oriented work. The job engages elements of hands-on manufacturing, timeline management, communication and documentation. Interested candidates should feel a sense of satisfaction in accuracy, execution, and efficiency.
While this position will have specific responsibilities, we are looking for someone who is a self-starter and is able to work self-sufficiently. There is room and opportunity for the candidate to creatively shape and manage the way we handle production in relationship with our growing sales market. There is also room for influencing how we operate and welcome guests on the weekends - we are looking for candidates who will feel a sense of warmth and ownership surrounding everything that happens onsite at C. Cassis.

Qualifications
Looking for someone with…
- Production experience, with emphasis on CPG, fermentation/beverage alcohol
- A love of spreadsheets + math. Fluency in excel spreadsheets is a plus
- Working knowledge of Square POS and basic Adobe Illustrator a plus
- Excellent organization, email etiquette, and vendor management skills
- Passionate about sustainability and a vested interest in NY state agriculture
- Wine knowledge and service background a plus, as part of the job will include customer-facing interactions.
Schedule/Compensation:
- Approx. 30 hrs/week starting at $32/hr
- Thurs/Fri 10a-4p
- Sat/Sun 10a-7p
Compensation
