Global Growers Network (GGN) is a nonprofit based in Decatur, GA & Conyers, GA, and is home to a network of more than 200 diverse farmers and food systems leaders who are growing fresh, culturally significant foods for their families and the local marketplace. With a focus on equity, justice and diversity in our local food system, we represent over 20 cultures and languages. We operate a network of community gardens in Decatur and Clarkston, a market farm located at the Indian Creek MARTA station in Stone Mountain, and a 23-acre organic co-farm in Conyers.

Program Overview
The Co-Farm Apprenticeship Program is a 10-week hands-on learning opportunity designed for individuals interested in learning about small-scale Organic farming. Apprentices will gain experience in a wide variety of farm activities, from field-work, to post-harvest handling and sales, to farm administrative tasks.
Global Grower’s Rockdale Organic Co-Farm is a 23 acre farm located in Conyers, GA. There are currently 13 Co-Farmers operating 9 independently owned farm businesses on this property. As a Farm Apprentice you would work primarily with Grow With The Flow, the anchor farmers of the property who have been farming for over a decade. You would work with them on their 1-acre farm, in the shared Wash/Pack facility, and at one of their regular farmer’s markets. You may also have the opportunity to work with and learn from some of the other 8 farm businesses located at the Co-Farm.

Responsibilities
- Expected time commitment is 16 hours per week, for 10 weeks
- Apprentices will work closely with Grow With The Flow, and potentially other Co-Farmers, to complete planting, harvesting, washing and packing, irrigation, cultivation, record-keeping, market, and farm maintenance tasks.
Qualifications
- Interest in sustainable agriculture and food systems
- Flexible, able, and willing to perform a variety of tasks in changing situations
- Willingness to perform physical farm labor in various weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions
- No previous farming experience is required, but enthusiasm and commitment are essential
