Justine’s on Hudson is an intimate restaurant nestled in the West Village, offering seasonal French-Filipino cuisine by Chef Jeanne Jordan and a curated, terroir-driven wine list anchored by the Rosenthal Wine Merchant portfolio. We're celebrated for our warm, gracious service, a close-knit team, and one of the most thoughtful wine programs in the city curated by RWM founder Neal Rosenthal.
As we approach our third year, we’re seeking a General Manager with sommelier experience who is equally comfortable on the floor, managing operations, and at the host stand. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a small, dynamic setting and values excellence in both hospitality and operations.
Job description
- Oversee and coordinate all front-of-house operations and uphold service standards
- Provide wine direction: maintain and educate others on our wine list (familiarity with the Rosenthal Wine Merchant portfolio is a major plus)
- Greet and seat guests warmly; manage nightly flow and reservation pacing
- Hire, train, and manage FOH staff; create weekly schedules
- Maintain inventory of wine, service supplies, and FOH needs
- Collaborate with ownership, marketing team and chef on special events and seasonal offerings
- Ensure compliance with NYC DOH, labor laws, and safety regulations
Qualifications:
- 3+ years in a management role at a respected restaurant
- Strong wine knowledge and service experience; sommelier certification is a bonus
- Experience working as a host and/or managing reservation systems
- Confident yet collaborative leadership style with excellent communication skills
- A calm, welcoming presence on the floor and a true love of hospitality
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking during service hours
- Lifting and carrying items up to 40 pounds, such as wine boxes or inventory
- Navigating a multilevel space, including occasional stairs, bending, and reaching

Compensation
this position is: salaried, $75,000 - $100,000
