Big Softie is a soft serve ice cream shop with two locations in Atlanta - one in Summerhill and one in Poncey Highland. We are Little Tart Bakeshop's sister company, and we make all our own soft serve, toppings, and waffle cones in house; everything is super delicious and we take a lot of pride in serving a well-made product! There are some staples on the menu like classic vanilla and chocolate, but we also offer a few vegan flavors (vegan oat vanilla is one of our mainstays) and rotate our seasonal flavors every month or so. We have a lot of fun coming up with our flavor recipes, and also make ice cream cakes and sandwiches, both available as classic and vegan options.
The shops themselves are small and the menu is concise, so we focus on friendly customer service and speedy execution. New folks come in every day and there are so many regulars who have been coming in for ages (some of them since we opened almost six years ago) and our guests are delightful. Pretty much everyone is excited to come get ice cream, which makes our job so much more enjoyable: kids, gaggles of gen Z'ers, extremely well-dressed couples out on a date, that one burly guy who always gets a huge cone covered in sprinkles and couldn't be more thrilled about it. Our food is delicious, but the community that we serve is what makes it worth it. You can ask the guy who bought a house in Summerhill just so he could walk down here to get a vanilla + chocolate twist multiples times a week.
Job description
Want to come make soft serve magic happen in Poncey Highland? We’re looking for someone with professional kitchen experience to help us make treats! We are looking for someone who would like to work 3-4 days/week. You’ll make cheez it brittle, honeycomb, and other toppings as well as adorable soft serve sammies and cakes. Production
- Ability to be precise, efficient, and organized
- Ability to understand and follow recipes
- Knowledge of using scales, mixers, and ovens
- Learn how to properly use the soft serve machines for production
- Attention to detail and presentation is essential; cakes and novelties must look professional
Team Support
- Set up coworkers well for the next day.
- Alert any managers about low item supply or production issues via email as needed
Basic requirements and expectations

- Work an 8 hour shift on your feet
- Lift 50lbs.
Compensation
this position is: hourly, $20/hr +
