Rainy Day Dinner Club is seeking an organized, energetic, and hands-on Program Coordinator to lead our 2025 Summer Camps and our after-school enrichment program. If you love working with children, coordinating engaging activities, and managing a dynamic camp environment, this position is for you. Experience leading students through cooking and baking lessons is essential.
Shifts: Monday - Friday 30-40 hours a week.
- August – Mid June the hours are 11am - 7pm
- Summers and School breaks hours are earlier 7:30am – 3:30pm
Start Date: Start training Mid-June.
Location: Staff pick up supplies in our Queen Anne location and drive to teach classes at various schools around the Greater Seattle and Eastside area.

Desired qualifications and experience:
- 2 years of experience teaching cooking and/or baking classes.
- 2- years of experience working with groups of 10-14 kids in mixed-grade settings (1st - 6th grade).
- 1 year of supervisor or peer training experience.
- Organized with strong classroom management skills, keen attention to detail, and a love of teaching.
- Comfortable with administrative work, spreadsheets, lesson planning, maintaining student records, and data entry.
- Able to build training materials for the staff and students.
- Ability to follow a lesson plan while being creative, flexible, and think quickly when needed.
- Enjoy a fast-paced, active environment with daily class goals.
- Comfortable working independently, and great at communicating with peers and supervisors daily.
- Have your own reliable vehicle capable of transporting up to 4 large storage tubs and a hand truck.
- Vegetarians and Vegans welcome; however, comfort with handling cooked meats, raw eggs, dairy, gluten, soy, and vegetarian products is required.
- A fun and positive attitude and the ability to actively engage with kids are essential.
Responsibilities:
Administrative Responsibilities: During the summer (10 hours per week) and during the school year (20-22 hours per week) in addition to the responsibilities for each timeframe listed below.
- Participate in hiring and training new staff.
- Work on spreadsheets, lesson planning, maintaining student records, and data entry.
- Develop and improve our training process and lessons.
- Create or update and distribute our weekly recipes and lessons.
- Respond to emails and communicate with parents about class and camp details.
- Collaborate on menus for the session.
- Co- plan staff meetings.
- Plan and lead fun team building/volunteer activities.
- Help with equipment and supply ordering.
- Help plan and manage our cooking camps.
Camp Coordinator Responsibilities: During the summer (30 hours a week)
- Train and support staff to deliver their lessons.
- Cover lessons when Instructors are on their meal and rest breaks, or while they are on vacation or sick time. Actively supervise campers and staff.
- Maintain an organized and approachable activity space.
- Ensure compliance with Camp Policies.
- Report and record details of notable concerns or incidents, injuries to campers, other staff members, or self.
- Keep track and be aware of camper allergies and dietary restrictions.
- Manage behavior or health issues with students and communicate with parents.
After-school Teaching Responsibilities: During the school year: (18-20 hours per week)
- Create a dynamic, fun, and engaging experience for kids and their families while maintaining the function, operation, and order of the classroom.
- Lead students safely through the week’s lesson plan.
- Set and maintain classroom expectations and provide a safe space for all students to learn.
- Pack and transport class supplies to and from schools.
- Set up and clean classrooms before and after class.
- Engage with students in a caring and nurturing manner.
- Manage groups of school-age students (1st-6th grades).
- Sign students in and out of our program, and contact parents when someone is missing, injured, or sick.
- Coach and train assistant teachers through the week’s lessons and become lead teachers.
Requirements:
- Experience working with kids within an environment with multiple age kids (grades 1st-5th) in the same classroom.
- Associate’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
- Provide proof of covid vaccines and boosters.
- Must be able to pass a Washington State school and National background checks.
- Must meet federal and state health and safety standards and maintain credentials for childcare (1st Aid, CPR, serve-safe certification).
- The ability to lift three 30lbs bins in and out of your car (cart will be provided).
- Access to a reliable source of transportation to and from schools that can safely hold up to 4 large storage bins plus a hand truck.
- Provide proof of current car insurance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and computer skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and to handle multiple tasks.
- Able to work flexible hours on occasion.
Compensation
this position is: hourly, varies DOE, $22.75 - $28.75
