Job description
A New Concept from the Phoenicia Diner Team
We're looking for a talented Chef to lead the culinary direction of our newest venture in Kingston, NY — a fresh concept from the team behind the beloved Phoenicia Diner. This new project brings a space where, much like the Phoenicia Diner, classic dishes will get a local and elevated twist.
About the Role:
We’re seeking a Chef who thrives in a collaborative, hands-on environment. Someone who can learn our brand and use their talents to work within it. Someone who can lead a small but mighty team with skill, humility, and creativity.
Key Responsibilities:
-With our operations team, design, test, and execute a menu rooted in local ingredients as well as execute established Phoenicia Diner recipes
-Manage kitchen operations, inventory, ordering, invoices, and food costs
-Hire, train, and inspire a strong BOH team
-Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, consistency, and food safety
-Collaborate with operations team and front-of-house on events, specials, beer pairing, and service flow
-Be an active participant in our community-first mission including working community events
You Might Be a Good Fit If You:
-Have at least 1 year of experience in a leadership kitchen role,
are passionate about local farms, seasonal cooking, and sustainable practices
-Get excited by classic dishes done in new ways and creating ones people remember
-Are patient, communicative, and enjoy working in a team-driven kitchen

Compensation
this position is: salaried, $60,406 - $75,000
