Company description
Community Farmers Markets (CFM) is an Atlanta-based 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to develop a local food infrastructure for long-term sustainability and meaningful community impact. Our purpose is to root, grow, and preserve a diverse local food culture by maintaining an authentic space for all people to share community, fair food, and healthy lifestyles while providing a sustainable living for producers who steward the earth.
CFM has a unique, four-tiered approach to food access through (1) the distribution of food through multiple market models; (2) educational outreach programming; (3) financial incentives through double SNAP and other incentive programs; and (4) vendor education and support. Through building strong partnerships with mission‐critical partners in our communities and the city at large, CFM’s markets and outreach models have had an extensive impact on the local food system in Atlanta.
Job description
The Educational Chef Manager will support CFM’s Educational Chef programming at the farmers markets and in the community. This role is responsible for both the coordination and implementation of educational chef programming, as well as managing educational content that celebrates seasonal produce and supports food access.
The ideal candidate is an outgoing, creative, and passionate chef and educator, who is equally comfortable working in the community with people of all ages and behind the scenes managing schedules, materials, and communications. To thrive in this role, a candidate should be a self-starter, comfortable working independently while also maintaining open and proactive communication—sharing updates regularly and seeking support when needed. We’re looking for someone who is organized, task-oriented, and disciplined, with the ability to stay focused and meet deadlines, even in unstructured settings. The ideal candidate is also creative, adaptable, and resourceful—able to adjust to changing needs, find practical solutions, and make the most of available resources to achieve our programmatic goals.
