Title: Development Coordinator
Status: .75 FTE, 30 hours per week
Benefits: Employer-covered benefits package including medical, dental, and vision, 3 weeks PTO, and 401(k) match after 1 year of employment
Hours: Weekday business hours with occasional work on weekends or evenings
Reports To: Director of Communications and Development
Neighborhood Farmers Markets (NFM) is a mission-driven organization dedicated to supporting local farmers, strengthening community connections, and ensuring access to fresh, local food. The Development Coordinator plays a key role in advancing NFM’s fundraising efforts, ensuring efficient donor operations, and coordinating the patron and donor engagement events.
This 0.75 FTE position (approximately 30 hours per week) offers a mix of remote and in-person responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Database & Donor Relations
Serve as the subject matter expert for all data entry, data reporting, and donor management using Little Green Light (LGL)* and donation portals (including matching gifts).
Manage fundraising data entry, generate gift acknowledgments (letters/emails), and tax receipts and maintain up-to-date donor records
Create custom reports for review by leadership and board, survey or donation forms, and provide data analysis as needed.
Oversee monthly donor administration, including sending renewal emails, reconciling the records, and processing the recurring donations.
Oversee and manage fundraising channels emails such as, Incredible Feast, and donation inboxes and mail, ensuring timely responses and professional communication.
2. Fundraising & Donor Stewardship
Support fundraising campaigns and recurring giving efforts, including:
Managing the digital giving platforms Little Green Light, Greater Giving, GiveBIG, Benevity.
Coordinate and execute all fundraising appeals including digital and mailing vehicles and content in collaboration with the Development and Marketing team.
Processing donations accurately and thanking donors in a timely manner and reporting back on how their donations are making a difference.
Manage all the donor engagement tracking, including board participation in donor thank-you calls and outreach in collaboration with the team and/or board committees.
Manage a portfolio of small businesses to nurture and secure lower-level sponsorships for the markets.
3. Event Coordination
Lead the logistics and administrative execution of donor engagement events, including NFM’s signature fundraising event, working closely with an event logistics contractor to bring it all to life!
Oversee every detail of event planning, from crafting invitations and tracking RSVPs to managing communications and ensuring top-notch post-event stewardship.
Ensure seamless execution of all events delivering an unforgettable experience for donors and sponsors.
Collaborate with Social Media & Marketing Manager for the development of social media posts and other online content (blog, Ripe & Ready, engagement)
Qualifications & Skills
The Development Coordinator will be the driving force behind our fundraising efforts and donor engagement initiatives. This role offers a unique opportunity to be directly involved in advancing our mission and supporting the growth of our organization.
2+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, or working in development administration.
Experience with event planning, fundraising software platforms, and donor management systems is a plus (like Little Green Light).
Strong attention to detail, highly organized, and the ability to multitask effectively.
Ability to manage donor communications professionally and with excellent customer service.
Interest in learning and growing within the field of fundraising and donor engagement.
Strong writing skills or a willingness to develop storytelling and donor communication skills.
Creative and proactive approach to problem-solving and donor engagement.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a small team environment.

Compensation
this position is: salaried, varies DOE, $48,000.00 - $58,000.00
