Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Pastry Assistant to support our growing team. This role involves assisting with pastry production, maintaining quality standards, and contributing to a positive kitchen environment.
Responsibilities:
- Execute daily pastry production, including baking, decorating, and finishing pastries such as croissants, muffins, cookies, and specialty items.
- Assist with morning bake-off duties, following recipes and guidelines set by the Sous Pastry Chef.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient pastry station, adhering to food safety and sanitation protocols.
- Collaborate with the team to experiment with seasonal ingredients and develop new recipes.
- Review production schedules and prioritize daily tasks for efficient workflow.
- Support and assist other team members to ensure smooth pastry operations.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic, accountability, and reliability in all tasks.
- Maintain proper use of equipment and tools, ensuring they are well-maintained and sanitized.
- Conduct regular product audits to maintain quality and consistency.
Additional Requirements:
- Knowledge of basic pastry techniques, baking methods, and ingredient handling.
- Ability to lift items up to 50 lbs (bags of flour, dough) and work on your feet for extended periods.
- Food Safety Certification (preferred) and understanding of food safety protocols.
- Strong communication skills, with a positive, team-oriented attitude.
Schedule:
- Part-time position, approximately 15–20 hours per week.
- 8-hour shifts, with a flexible schedule including weekends as needed.
Compensation
