Job description

The Cheese Supervisor is a specialist in selling cheese. Responsible for the ordering, storage, and presentation of cheeses, as well as sharing knowledge about different cheese selections, and their pairings.

A Supervisor is responsible for the following job duties and responsibilities that include but are not limited to:

Perform tasks essential to daily operations such as ordering and inventory, scheduling and payroll, hiring and staffing, and continuous training and development*
Educate and sell cheeses and accompaniments describing tastes, flavors, textures of, and pairings*
Maintain knowledge of all available products*
Merchandise/arrange/display cheese, and other items in the retail space*
Maintain and care for cheese in refrigerated and non-refrigerated* environments; assist with reducing product waste*
Ensure strict compliance with all rules and policies, including but not limited to applicable health and safety policies and laws (i.e.- those that relate to cleanliness and sanitation) *
Collaborate with Product & Catering Director to craft creative and profitable plans to increase sales, promote items and gain industry exposure*
Lead cheese classes and events*
Participate in the daily setup, maintenance, and breakdown of the Cheese department*
Operate equipment such as wrapping machine and slicers; prepare and wrap cheese with proper food protocols*
Slice, weigh, package, and price products
Work and remain “qualified” in the position knowing the Working Conditions; Job Requirements and Physical Demands / Requirements that relate directly to the essential job duties and functions, with or without a reasonable accommodation (see below for details)

Compensation

this position is: hourly, varies DOE, $25.00 - $30.00
